The Carbon Trust to help indies slash energy costs

The Carbon Trust will help thousands of small and medium-sized retailers to cut energy costs by as much as £41m.

The Big Business Refit will launch next month and will offer small and medium-sized retailers expert advice and financial support to slash energy costs by replacing inefficient equipment with new models.

The decision followed a surge in demand for the Carbon Trust’s interest-free business loans. In the six months of 2009, hundreds of retailers have received loans at zero-interest to fit out their businesses with energy-saving technology, saving an average of over £8,000 on their annual energy bills.

Retailers that want to take part in the Big Business Refit can get expert advice from the Carbon Trust by calling 01865 885879.
