The Doctor will see you now - Manchester Arndales open their Denim Surgery.

Jeans are the wardrobe staple for every woman, but finding the right pair to suit your body shape can be a life long hunt. Last week I went to find out how Manchester Arndale’s latest contraption The Body Scanner can help women across the North West free themselves from their body hang-ups and  find the right pair of jeans…

On my walk up to Manchester Arndale I was petrified of having my body scanned and like any other women the thought of seeing myself in 3D was more than I could bare for a Wednesday lunch time.

However, I was soon put to ease after arriving at Manchester Arndale and being met by the lovely Debs Hatfield, personnel shopper in residence, who assured me that the experience would be pain free and the best fashion move I would make this year.

I was relived to see the pod is designed with the ultimate privacy in mind. All I had to do was step into the attached changing room strip down to my underwear and step into the scanner. Easy.

The scanner uses white lights and individual cameras to scan your body from top to toe, which takes about 10 seconds. The computer then generates your measurements and produces a 3D scanned template of your body.

This is a model’s 3D generated template, I didn’t fancy broadcasting mine,

Upon getting dressed and leaving the scanner Debs had jeans ready for me. The first pair I tried on was a pair of Levi Curves and they fit like a dream. Hugging my waist, flattering my bum and fitting my leg length. Halleluiah, had I finally found the jean of my dreams? It seemed so!

I have had my Levis on every day nearly since I got them and they fit, feel and look amazing. So if you find yourself in Manchester I suggest you stop by and see the doctor, because the diagnoses she’ll give you will cure you of all denim woes forever.”

The Denim Surgery runs from the 3rd to the 5th of June at Manchester Arndale’s Exchange Court.
