The Royal Warrant ….

lk bennett kate shoeOver the last six weeks we have had literally thousands of emails about the Royal Wedding and any PR link you could possibly make with it – we had made a conscious decision not to mention the Royal Wedding on our three blogs as we thought people would be so over it and also constantly having it in their face via the news media. Some of the emails and suggestions did make us laugh in the office like one beauty brand asking if we wanted our hair coloured the same shade as Miss Middleton – they clearly have no idea how much my mother spends on her “Knightsbridge blonde “look!Obviously the wedding is over and every outfit has been dissected and we all fell in love with the Dress by McQueen and Philippa Middleton’s bridesmaid dress is about to become the most replicated on the High Street – but on Friday we suddenly had a huge surge in traffic on my mother’s site and it was all down to the Royal connection.LK Bennett are reintroducing a wedge worn by the Duchess as she left for her brief honeymoon and calling it Kate – the interest by women searching for the shoe was phenomenal – we also sold some LK Bennett shoes from that particular page which is just as well as the shoe is not out till June and a number of other wedges from other pages – so the rope soled wedge is now popular. So this proves the Duchess of Cambridge really does have the Midas touch as regards the way the women of this country want to follow literally in her footsteps – it was also great to see after further research that she had picked lots of British companies to make items for her wedding so the trickledown effect has been phenomenal for brands like the Vivien Sheriff hats & fascinators each one hand made in Wiltshire as 53 guests commissioned her after she was made famous by the Duchess on her first royal engagement. So the Royal Wedding was just what the nation and the High Street needed and let’s hope she hits the shops again soon.
