A round up of the best fashion business stories from the weekend’s newspapers.


Footwear chain Office, which is owned by Sir Tom Hunter, is set to deliver a 70% uplift in underlying profit to £17m in the year to January 31, according to the Sunday Times.


The newspaper also reported that shadow business secretary Kenneth Clarke has hinted that VAT may be increased to 20% under a Tory government.

House of Fraser

House of Fraser owner Highland Group Holdings revealed a £61.5m loss in the year to January 24 2009, compared to a loss of £19.6m the year before, according to The Sunday Mail.

Sports Direct

The newspaper also interviewed new Sports Direct chairman and former Government drugs tsar Keith Hellawell.
