The best of the fashion business headlines from the weekend papers…

Burberry is benefitting from strong retail sales and the falling pound, with analysts forecasting a retail sales rise of up to 13% on an underlying basis for its second quarter when it updates on Wednesday, according to the Sunday Express.

The same newspaper reported that the St David’s 2 shopping centre in Cardiff will open on October 22 with a third of its space still unlet. The biggest retail opening of the year covers 1.4m sq ft of space. Its owners Land Securities and Capital Shopping Centres said they expect 30 more shops to open in the centre before Christmas.

The Mail on Sunday reported that big high street names including Mothercare could cash in on better property deal and be millions of pounds better off when they renegotiate their leases over the next few years.
