Thierry Henry signs with Puma

Footballer Thierry Henry has been signed to front PPR-owned sportswear brand Puma in new multi-year partnership, according to reports.

Henry currently plays for US team the New York Red Bulls and the move is said to be part of a wider strategy at Puma to heighten its visibility in the US market.

Henry, the former captain of the French national football team has previously fronted sportswear brands including Nike and Reebok. More recently he has been wearing Puma’s King Finale Boots for matches in the run up to the European football season.

Jay Piccola, president of Puma North America, commented: “Football is a priority for Puma. As a sportlifestyle brand with deep roots in soccer, there’s no better way for us to make a statement than with one of the most credible, talented and well-known players in the world.”
