Timberland appoints design director

Outdoor clothing and footwear brand Timberland has appointed a new design director for its apparel and accessories division.

Camila Vesth joins Timberland from French sportswear brand Le Coq Sportif, where she was head of creative apparel and accessories.

Prior to this she worked for sportswear brand Adidas, both in Germany and later in the US.

Vesth will be based in the Timberland International Design Centre in London and will report into Rene Skytte, the brand’s vice president of global apparel and accessories.

Skytte said: “We are extremely happy to have Camila on board leading the process of repositioning the brand according to our vision of becoming the largest and most sustainable outdoor lifestyle brand in the market place.”

In the summer of 2011 Timberland was acquired by US brand house VF Corporation for $2bn (£1.31bn).
