Tommy Hilfiger has signed a distribution deal for its catwalk collections and will now wholesale both the men’s and women’s ranges, starting with autumn 12.
The Tommy Hilfiger Group has signed a deal with manufacturing and licensing firm Ittierre SpA to license the men’s and womens runway collection from the autumn 12 and spring 13 pre-collections. For Europe, North America and Asia Ittierre will produce and distribute apparel and the majority of accessories.
The collections have previously been sold solely in Tommy Hilfiger retail stores but will now include wholesale. Ittierre will focus on high end retailers both on and offline and will showcase the collections in six showrooms throughout Europe, North America and Asia.
Fred Gehring, chief executive officer of The Tommy Hilfiger Group, said the agreement would help broaden the group’s global distribution.
He added: “Over the past few years, the successful repositioning and elevation of the brand has led to an increase in the demand for our runway collections. Partnering with Ittierre is a wonderful opportunity to reach new customers and to further evolve our most elevated expression of preppy American classics with a twist.
“We look forward to building on the brand’s current momentum with Ittierre, a partner that is renowned for their passion and capability to manage the manufacturing and distribution of designer collections on a global scale.”
Ittierre also recently signed a deal with luxury heritage brand Aquascutum. The British brand signed a six-year licensing deal for continental Europe, Russia and the Middle East. The agreement covers the production and distribution of Aquascutum’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, with the first collections due for autumn 12.
