Autumn 10

Designer Christophe Decarnin showed he still has the Midas touch at Balmain with a sparkling collection of historically inspired short body-con looks and slick pantsuit dressing. However, his rock ‘n’ roll theme looked a tad tired when set against the current mood for heritage looks. The frock coat replaced the signature military jacket, teamed with the designer’s trademark super-skinny jeans. Dresses were thigh-high and the Balmain exaggerated shoulder was slightly softened. Long, slashed-to-the-thigh gowns were served up for the evening.
