Tributes to L’Wren Scott flood in

Marc Jacobs, Naomi Campbell and Vogue editor Anna Wintour have led tributes to fashion designer L’Wren Scott after she was found dead yesterday.

The 49-year-old fashion designer, who was also Mick Jagger’s long-term girlfriend, was discovered dead in her New York apartment yesterday in an apparent suicide.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell described Scott as “the epitome of elegance and femininity”, while Wintour said the designer was “always unbelievably generous, gracious, kind and so much fun”.

Wintour added: “L’Wren was a total perfectionist, someone who absolutely embodied everything her marvellous clothes stood for: strength of character combined with a confident and powerful style.”

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs wrote: “Rest in peace, L’Wren Scott. You’ll forever be missed.” Model Daisy Lowe tweeted: “What a loss to the world. Such an inspired woman. She dressed the feminine form unlike any other.”

In a statement the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) said it was “deeply saddened” by Scott’s death.

“L’Wren was a truly talented designer and a valued member of the CFDA family. She will be greatly missed in our industry. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this tragic time.”
