The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star tells Drapers fashion editor Graeme Moran about her latest collaboration with Lipsy.

This is your fifth Kardashian Kollection with Lipsy. Why did you and your sisters partner with the brand? What do you like about it?
It’s great to partner with someone who believes in you and allows you to really express yourself and design how you want - and Lipsy gives us that freedom. The collection has done well and we’re really thankful for that, and it’s just fun to be back. We have an amazing ad campaign shot by [German photographer] Ellen von Unwerth and I’m really excited about this collection. I think it’s my favourite so far.

You say you’re given lots of freedom, so how involved were you in the designing? Did you and your sisters, Khloé and Kourtney, get together to create the collection?
We start off by finding inspiration, which could be from our travels, magazine clippings, social media or by looking at the bloggers that love to Instagram their own street style. We send it all over and the manufacturer comes to us with mood boards. It also puts together all of our looks that we’ve been seen wearing that month and then we sift through and say which shapes and styles we like and which ones we want to introduce into the collection. Next we go through the colour palette and fabrics, and then we get samples and do fittings. Every few weeks we have these three-hour meetings where we just hash everything out, so we’re involved from the start to finish.

What are your favourite pieces?
I am really feeling jumpsuits. They were a little bit more designed by Kourtney - she had a really heavy hand in pushing them - and I love them. They just fit really well. I usually have to get everything tailored, but for our collection we make sure that all the pieces are tailored so well that no one would need to do that.

How do you translate all three of your styles into one collection?
We all have different styles, so you will see some pieces that are a little more Kourtney, some a little more Kim and Khloé, and then we all style them differently, so you would see me wearing something totally different to how Kourtney would wear it. We make sure the collection looks like it goes together and then we make sure Khloé, Kourtney and myself each have a part.

This collection is for the autumn 14 season, so what key trends are you backing?
Bodycon. We added in some jackets, but I think some of my favourite pieces are the bodycon dresses and pencil skirts. I love pencil skirts.

Do you want the collaboration with Lipsy to continue?
Absolutely. It has been a great partner to us and I would hope it will continue.

Other than Lipsy, what are your favourite brands?
There is nothing I love more than shopping on Asos; I buy bodysuits and bikinis from it all the time. And then I love Givenchy and I love Balmain.

If you could only wear one brand for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Kardashian Kollection - and I could just design it.

What’s the most expensive piece in your wardrobe, or the most treasured?
My most treasured, and it’s probably the most expensive, is my wedding dress. And probably another expensive piece, although I wouldn’t know how much as it was a gift, is a Balmain zebra jacket that [my husband] Kanye [West] got me eight or nine years ago that is so crazy. It’s really cool.

Whose style do you admire?
[Former French Vogue editor] Carine Roitfeld. She has the best style. I love Kate Moss too.

What’s the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever been given that you can pass on?
Shoes are so important. You can have a really simple outfit and a fun shoe. And I love the advice to wear a nude shoe. It really elongates your leg, especially when you’re shorter.

If you had the chance to shop anywhere in London, where would it be?
Probably Selfridges, it has everything there.

You have been shortlisted for the Drapers Marketing Campaign of the Year Award 2014 with the Kardashian Kollection at Lipsy. How would it feel to win?
That would be amazing - such an honour.
