Vince Camuto sets out international expansion plans

US-based premium footwear brand Vince Camuto, which is distributed by Kurt Geiger here in the UK, plans to expand the business to more than 100 overseas doors in 2013.

The company, which currently has 30 international stores including units in Dubai, Singapore and Japan, plans to open more stores in areas including the Philippines, Australia and Mexico this year followed by stores in India and another six key locations in Japan in 2013.

“Within each region, we’ll go with a partner with great knowledge of the local market,” said Greg Morel vice president of international at Camuto Group.

In June Vince Camuto signed an exclusive European distribution deal with premium footwear retailer Kurt Geiger to distribute Vince Camuto and its associated VC Signature and Jessica Simpson brands in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany.

The deal allows Vince Camuto to expand its footprint in Europe, as well as in key department stores such as Selfridges, Harrods and Brown Thomas. As a result the brand is now targeting up to 70 doors across the UK, Ireland and Germany by the end of this year.

Vince Camuto is also planning to open its first UK flagship, at an undisclosed location in central London in March 2013.
