Yves Saint Laurent

The look:
An aggressively simple palette of black, white and fawn was played out on a series of leather, silk, puckered nylons, crisp cotton and flannels. Shunning prints and colour, Stefano Pilati flirted with the 1980s referencing power silhouettes, but he juxtaposed these with a softer version of shoulder panels stitched into sheer blouses.

Key pieces:
The business-like look included pleated knee-length skirts, and shirts with wide sleeves and exaggerated lapels. Body-con pencil skirts were teamed with a dramatic white silk blouse that had an oversized bow tie at the neck and billowing sleeves pleated into the body.
