Zandra Rhodes designs collection for M&S

Marks & Spencer has teamed up with designer Zandra Rhodes who will launch a collection for the high street chain in May.

Rhodes has created a capsule collection of clothing and accessories which features the designer’s signature bold print styles and will go into 55 Marks & Spencer stores on May 7.

The Zandra Rhodes collection includes a rose print jump-suit at £59, an orange trumpet sleeve top at £49 and a neon snake skin print swimsuit for £29.50, as well as print scarves, bikinis, lingerie and bags. Prices range from £6 to £89.

Marks & Spencer head of womenswear design Neil Hendy said: “This has been an amazing opportunity to work with such a well-known designer and a perfect fit for M&S. Zandra’s unique prints and aesthetic work really well for our customers.”

Rhodes said: Marks & Spencer do a wonderful product range and I have always wanted to design for them. I am thrilled to see my prints and their beautiful clothes reach a wide range of consumers.”

  • How many M&S customers will buy a rose-print jumpsuit I wonder? This seems an odd collaboration to me. Will it go the way of Patricia Field or will all those 50-plus M&S shoppers dig these gaudy prints?
