Zara has confirmed the launch of its US website for September.
The Spanish high street fashion retailer launched e-commerce across Europe last year and has scheduled the launch of e-tail in the US for September 7.
Online sales continue to drive Zara’s growth. This month the fashion chain posted a surge in profit, which it attributed largely to its online business. Pre-tax profits in the year to January soared from £618,000 to £15.8m on the previous year. Sales, meanwhile, were up 7 % to £332.4m.
Zara has enjoyed a heightened profile recently thanks to Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wearing its key pieces at public occasions and prompting instant item sell-outs. This week it also unveiled its new autumn 11 ad campaign featuring British model Stella Tennant.
